US President Donald Trump has approved the merger of US Steel and Japan‘s Nippon Steel, CNBC writes.

This will be a planned partnership between United States Steel and Nippon Steel, which will create at least 70,000 jobs and under which $14 billion will be invested in the U.S. economy, he wrote on his Truth Social network.

The head office of US Steel will remain in Pittsburgh, and the bulk of the investment will take place over the next 14 months, Trump said.
