Verizon Communications Inc., through its subsidiaries, offers communications, technology, and entertainment products and services to consumers, businesses, and governments worldwide. The company operates in two segments: Verizon Consumer Group (Consumer) and Verizon Business Group (Business).

The Consumer segment provides wireless services across its networks in the United States under the Verizon and TracFone brands. It also offers fixed wireless access (FWA) broadband along with related devices like smartphones, tablets, smart watches, and other connected devices. Additionally, the segment provides wireline services in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States, including Washington D.C., through its fiber-optic network, Verizon Fios, and a copper-based network.

The Business segment serves businesses, government customers, and carriers both domestically and internationally. It offers wireless and wireline services, including FWA broadband, data, video, conferencing, corporate networking, security, managed networks, local and long-distance voice, and network access. These services support various IoT solutions.

Formerly known as Bell Atlantic Corporation, Verizon Communications Inc. changed its name in June 2000. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in New York, New York.
