LyondellBasell creates and markets a diverse array of products, including ethylene, aromatics, propylene, butadiene, polyolefins, polyethylene, polypropylene homopolymers and copolymers, propylene oxide and its derivatives, oxyfuels, and various intermediate chemicals such as styrene monomer, acetyls, and ethylene oxide. The company also offers compounding and solutions, like polypropylene compounds, engineered plastics, masterbatches, engineered composites, colors, powders, and advanced polymers such as catalloy and polybutene-1. Additionally, it refines heavy, high-sulfur crude oil and other crude oils, producing refined products like gasoline and distillates.

Beyond manufacturing, LyondellBasell develops and licenses chemical and polyolefin process technologies, manufactures and sells polyolefin catalysts, and serves industries including food packaging, home furnishings, automotive components, and paints and coatings.

The company was founded in 2009, with its headquarters in Houston, Texas.
